Noted Science Fiction Author Stephen Michael Stirling was born in 1953 in Toronto, and now lives in New Mexico.
He enjoys collaborating with other authors. He has worked with such names as Anne McCaffery, Jerry Pournelle, David Drake and Harry Turtledove as well as fellow Canadians James Doohan, Shirley Meier and Karen Wehrstein. His latest books are The Domination (which combines his first three Draka novels), The Reformer (with David Drake, part II of the Raj and Center series), and The Privateer (with James Doohan, part II of the Flight Engineer series) In the Draka trilogy, Stirling creates a parallel universe, where a nation founded on slavery and the United States battle for domination of the world. The trilogy was recently republished in one huge volume as The Domination. Stirling has also written Drakon, a novel of a Draka warrior hurled into our world, and edited a companion volume, Drakas! Among his collaborations are the popular General series with David Drake, the novel, The Children's Hour, with Jerry Pournelle, and the national bestseller, The City Who Fought, with Anne McCaffrey. His newest book is titled "On the Oceans of Eternity". My hobbies are mostly related to the craft -- I love history, anthropology and archaeology, and am interested in the sciences. The martial arts are my main physical hobby."
