This vintage albumen steroview photograph of Sterling Castle is inscribed with the following incription "M. Glashon's Scottish Stereographs.  Realities of the Waverly Novels, Burn's Poems, Scottish Songs, &c."

The castle explanade is featured in this early photograph.  The orginal is dated with period ink -  "7 mo 15th, 1862"  Thus far this is the earliest photo of the castle we have here at Clan Stirling Online.
