Raploch is a small disrict near Stirling.  It is north west of the castle, a mile from the center of the town of Stirling. Formerly a separate community, very little survives of the old village. The houses of Raploch council estate facing the Drip Road were designed in 1920 by E.S. Bell to resemble small Scottish palaces complete with towers and turreted roofs.

Raploch Quarry & Castle - During the Flooded Stage.

Raploch Quarry was flooded in the last quarter of the ninteenth century. It remained unused for many years before being drained and brought back into operation again. It flooded a second time, was abandoned as a quarry and used as a landfill tip before being filled and grassed over to become the Quarry Park. It is now under the recent western by-pass and its initial roundabout next to the present fire station.

Later Raploch had council housing built on it. This has proved to be less than popular with many of the local residents.
