April 30, 2002 - Rare 1919 Photo of Bridge of Allan
Bridge of Allan is home to the Stirlings of Keir, and quite a few other branches of the Stirling family. There are quite a number of postcards from the 1900-1930 timeframe of various hotels and spas in Bridge of Allan, but this is the first one we've seen of the bridge itself.
This postcard is a fine Davidson's Silver Tone Series entitled "The Bridge. Bridge of Allan".It depicts the charm of the village by the Allan Water. Bridge of Allan is situated in the centre of Stirling, Scotland - along the riverside pathway known as Darn Walk.A very good postcard circa 1919, in excellent condition. The card is posted in 1919 - here is the backside of the postcard.
