HISTORY OF STARK COUNTY "James Sterling, son of William Sterling and his first Wife, Janet, was born in Derry Township,Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, was brought up to agricultural pursuits, and followed farming throughout his life, first

He was married to Mary Beatty about 1819 in Derry Twp. West Moreland County, PA. Mary Beatty was born on 2 May 1800 in Derry Twp. West Moreland County, PA. She died on 20 Oct 1873 in RipleyTwp. Holmes County. Ohio. She is buried, with her husband at Hopewell Cemetery, Ripley Twp. Road,(T-754) Ripley Township, Holmes County, Ohio.
